Today and this week, our officers have attended training created by Long Beach Sergeant Jason Lehman, Retired Long Beach Detective Armando Yearwood and their team. Their organization "Why'd You Stop Me?" (WYSM) is focused on creating transparency and better understanding between officers and the community by various means, including de-escalation techniques. The organization has conducted multiple trainings at various police agencies, as well as within the communities they serve.
