The Police Explorer program is an excellent opportunity for youth to explore the concepts of law enforcement and the policing profession. West Covina Police Explorer Post 499 has about 20 Explorer positions, for youth between the ages of 14 and 21. The Explorers attend a 13-week Academy which focuses on law, discipline, and self-control. After completing the Academy, the Explorers meet every Thursday at the Police Department for continued training by Police Officers.
